Interlaboratory tests
General information
Interlaboratory studies represent an indispensable instrument for:
- the assessment of laboratory performance (Proficiency Tests)
- in-house analytical quality assurance
- evaluating the performance of newly developed measurement methods (Method Validation)
- the certification of reference materials
Carrying out interlaboratory studies is expensive and time-consuming. Efficient design and performance of the various tasks involved is therefore essential.
This is where quo data comes in.
Your outsourcing partner
We are able to assist in the design or implementation of any part of an interlaboratory test:
- planning and design
- testing and documenting homogeneity requirements
- providing a website, e.g. for all communication and data management purposes
- shipping samples
- statistical analysis
- organising a final meeting
- generating and publishing reports
In this respect, both at the national and international level, quo data has considerable experience in many different areas:
- foodstuffs and consumer goods
- drinking water
- marine environment
- anti-microbial substances
- forensics
For example, all the validation studies which are prescribed by the German Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety in connection with the German Food and Feed Code (ยง64 LFGB) are designed, planned and evaluated by quo data.
Tailor-made interlaboratory tests
However, the services we offer in the area of interlaboratory studies go much further. Basically, what we offer is:
expertise in the optimal design and performance of interlaboratory tests in general
That is to say, instead of offering a standard selection of routine procedures, we offer the know-how to develop original procedures that optimally suit the increasingly complex requirements of our customers.
Depth and perspective
Navigating through the other sections of the quo data website, you will be able to appreciate that our various areas of activity all reinforce one another, giving quo data that extra edge.
For instance, in parallel to providing the services listed on this page, quo data
- develops sophisticated software for the implementation and evaluation of interlaboratory studies (ProLab)
- develops new measurement methods (ESTR-A-LISER, pharm-a-liser, EstraMonitor, A-YES)
- collaborates with customers to modify, adjust or optimize existing measurement and calibration technologies
Furthermore, we play a leading role in the elaboration of some of the most important international standards for proficiency tests and method validation. Specifically, many relevant standards (ISO 16140, ISO 5725/ISO 15725, ISO 13528) are currently being revised with a view to incorporating procedures developed by quo data.
