QuoData workshops in 2020 Overview

QuoData is pleased to announce its annual workshop series for 2020. As a service provider in the field of analytical quality assurance, QuoData regularly offers a number of workshops for QA experts.

The workshops give participants an opportunity to dive deeper into different topics regarding the latest developments in international standardization, as well as to get to know the advanced approaches of QuoData.

QuoData to visit the EQALM symposium – a meetup of European EQA organizers in laboratory medicine

From 17th to 18th October, QuoData will visit Ljubljana, Slovenia to attend the EQALM symposium – a meetup of European external quality assurance organizers in laboratory medicine.

During the symposium QuoData scientist Kapil Nichani will introduce how artificial intelligence can be utilized in PT for prognosis of future laboratory performanceA novel easy-to-interpret score developed for qualitative PT/EQA data will also be presented.

International PROLab Workshop 2019 in Berlin

The 2019 international PROLab workshop was successfully hosted by QuoData on 25-27 September at its Berlin premises. International participants from Turkey, Serbia, Germany and Indonesia attended this fruitful 3-day in-depth workshop.

The workshop covered various topics on interlaboratory studies - method validation as well as proficiency tests in compliance with the relevant standards such as ISO 13528:2015, ISO 5725 and ISO/IEC 17043.

The range of human activity directly or indirectly involved in addressing issues related to food safety has considerably expanded in the last decade. In the past, the focus in food safety lay on quality control measures implemented to ensure productive processes met performance criteria. Nowadays, however, a narrow understanding of the issues surrounding food safety will compromise our ability to fully mobilize the potential of new digital and AI technologies.

Evaluating dependability of black box AI methods

Artificial intelligence methods are now seeping into healthcare, medicine, agriculture and food sectors. Keeping the buzz aside, such methods are increasingly efficient at addressing a task at hand. The area of food safety is not unknown to these technological developments in big data and contemporary machine learning methods. For example, use of AI as part of analytical measurement procedures, internet of things (IoT) enabled analytical devices, use of predictive analytics algorithms for crunching large data sets, to list a few.

Together with U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Institute for Food Safety and Health, QuoData held the second training course on validation of qualitative microbiological methods from 18 to 20 September at the University of Maryland as part of the joint workshop series.

QuoData held two in-house trainings for proficiency testing providers in Toronto, Canada

From 9 to 13 September 2019, QuoData’s head of IT, Christian Bläul led two in-house training courses on the use of the QuoData flagship software “PROLab”, which is developed specifically for planning and evaluation of proficiency tests (PT) during his visit to Toronto, Canada.

QuoData at the PT Conference: presenting PROLab_HUB – an advanced web-based solution for PT providers

As part of QuoData’s ongoing efforts to improve quality assurance and performance assessment of laboratories through proficiency testing, QuoData participated at PT Conf in Oradea, Romania, taking place from September 10th to 13th. 

The seventh international proficiency testing conference brought together an important and vital group of researchers and PT professionals. It also provided QuoData with an opportunity to meet face-to-face in order to share knowledge and insights with other experts.
